Batik again and again

Here, I just want to show you my picture wearing batik. Well, I chose this motif because it reminds me on my great grandma cloth. My mom laughed at me with my choice here but…. It looks good and she agreed on that one.

Forgot to say that due to my 2 weeks holiday, I’m going to visit Jogjakarta. Jogja, here I come!!! 

By the way guys, I also cut my hair. Somone asked me to cut it out and see how I would look like. However, I do believe that my friends at Gloria will be shocked. All of them will say “Don’t be English teachers. See, all of the English teachers got depressed and cut their hair!!!”

BATIK becomes popular!!! Good or Bad???

Do you all notice that lately BATIK has become popular once more?

 

Well, try to look at the person next to you or try to observe your surroundings. You’ll find many people are wearing BATIK.

 

Dear friends, knowing that BATIK is once again become fashionable makes me proud. However, there is one thing that bothers me and makes me sad.

 

It is true that BATIK is popular but the problem is the one making it popular. It is not our people or government but it is Malay’s work. Based on trustworthy source of mine J, people in Malay nowadays wear BATIK; therefore, she took those BATIK and put it in her stores and finally … BOOM!!! BATIK spread all over our country and you can find it easily in outlets. Well, the one in outlets are mostly not Indonesian made; that’s why even the quality is not OK in my opinion.

 

Well, I bought one at MIROTA today and the quality of the cloth and motifs are far better. I’ll put it in this blog once I took a picture of it. Btw, I even plan to go to Jogja to observe but if and only if I do not go abroad again this coming holiday.

 

Go back to the one bothering me … Well, knowing the one popularizing BATIK is Malay people, it makes me wonder whether they will one day say “BATIK is from my country” just like the previous incident.

 

What will our government and our people do?

 

Hmm… at least not now. Keep on making BATIK fashionable!!!
