SBY got upset!!!

Dear friends,

Did you notice in television that few days ago our president, SBY, got upset with the members of the legislative due to they were falling asleep during his speech?

Hmm, well, his being upset is agreeable in my opinion. However, why now???

I think the members fell asleep and yawned during their meetings (if it was truly an important one) has already been in their blood; rooted. We have seen it several times on television but nobody even they themselves seem to care about it.

Responsible people is getting fewer and fewer these days. It also reminds me that previously when I watched Metro TV there was something interesting.

Several staff of PNS were on the food stalls an other places at 10.15. Now, the question is: What’s the big deal? For me it’s absolutely HUGE. They were having fun during the working hours and when the reporter came closer they all went away and even ran away.

The same with the legislative members. They were being chosen and paid from out\r taxes and anything but what did they do? SLEEP. Nice move guys, Don’t you think that your house has already got nice bed and pillow compare to others who sleeps on the street? Your house is comfortable and you can sleep well but it isn’t enough, is it? Or is it because at least I didn’t escape from sitting in the boring meeting?

Well guys, please be more responsible with your work! Responsibility and honesty are truly great deals and you couldn’t find it in just a day or two.

A Day Without Newspaper?

Dear friends,

I wrote this one under the heading of books because I just want to relate it to reading.

Ok, now, let’s go to my questions

1. Do you read newspaper everyday?

2. How do you feel if you do not read newspaper?

Well, I wrote this because it reminds me on my uncle comment and I do know he won’t read this though I really would like him to read it. Hmm, how should I do it?

Last year, after my father was cremated, my uncle said to my mother to stop subscribing the newspaper.  He said that it was wasting money and many others. Yup, he never subscribes newspaper in his whole life. He bought newspaper only and if only my dad came to Semarang and wanted to read newspaper.

This is sometime, thoug small thing, become a big difference between my family and the others in Semarang. In my family, every morning, we will surely spend our morning with newspaper and a cup of coffee; even lately my sister also does it though only reading interesting things that she loves, for instance: movies, tv channels, fashion (never about politics and stuff like that). It reminds me clearly that every morning my dad would surely wait  for the newspaper to come and if he waited for quite long, he got upset because he was going for his office.

Well, for them maybe reading newspaper is unimportant, but for us??? Previously, when I stayed at Semarang, I got a little bit inconvinient Why? Yup, no newspaper. I felt isolated, not news, no information, nothing.

What about you guys? Can you live without newspaper?

The 6th Day (Clone)

 

Two days ago, I saw an interesting film, even though it was quite an old film. The title of the film was ‘The 6^th Day” and it was starred by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The film mainly discussed about clone and clonning.   

Dear friends,  

Let me give you several simple illustrations: 

• One day, when you are walking around the city garden, you meet somebody who looks exactly like you; the appearance and style. Well, when you stand across this person, it seems as if you are looking at a mirror. How do you feel? How do you react?
• One day, you visit a futuristic new mall in town and one of the shops there is offering you to create a clone; it can be either you, your friends, pets, etc. The salesman says “This is definitely a great invention and truly secure. Moreover, you can create new features for the clone and even erase the bad ones. You can get what you want. Not to forget, it is insurance. You can come here at anytime if you feel dissatisfied with it.” Wow, what do you think? Interesting? Want to try?

In my opinion, it seems that the world is degrading to a certain level of not human if this one truly happens in the future. Furthermore, it will drag people to “delete” God. People will only live as they wish and created “things” they want. Why “things”? For me they are not human but robots with feeling and way of thinking.

 Planning to rule the world and replace the Almighty God? Wanna try to loosen up a bit and create new challenge? Let’s bring back the prehistoric creatures, dinosaurs, shall we?   

If I come to see a scientist and talk about this, what do you think the response will be?It is a new invention in science and if you and the others stop this, it means that you do not want any improvement for this world. And bla…bla…bla…..  

Really? So, where shall we put God? You have been given great talent and finally able to create another you so where should God stand among you if you can be just like Him?  

Do you remember Genesis 1: 26 and Proverb 1: 1 – 7

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, ^[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”  

In Genesis 1:26, it is clearly stated that we are created based on His image and we have the power among everything on earth. Can you define the word His image? Well, surely we have things that others do not have. The things which are given to us can be seen in Proverbs 1 and the most important point lays in verse 7.

Proverbs 1 Prologue: Purpose and Theme  

1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:   

2 for attaining wisdom and discipline;
       for understanding words of insight;   

3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
       doing what is right and just and fair;   

4 for giving prudence to the simple,
       knowledge and discretion to the young-   

5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
       and let the discerning get guidance-   

6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
       the sayings and riddles of the wise.   

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
       but fools ^[a] despise wisdom and discipline. 

It is very obvious that we are born with intelligence. We can learn new things, understand them, share them and even change the world (either good or bad).  Let’s look closely at verse 7! There is one thing we must remember and keep it closely in our mind and heart; the fear of God.   

Dear friends,  

Never think that you are the best for being able to create another human because in the end it will only create imbalance in our life.  Old people say “there’s sky above the sky.” Never play God because He is the one and only one, the Almighty God.
